PRAYER TIME

ALZHEIMER’S ASSOCIATION SUPPORT GROUP

The Alzheimer’s Association’s Monthly Support Group meets the third Thursday of every month at Chestnut Knoll Assisted Living, 120 W 5th Street in Boyertown from 6 to 7:30 pm.  It is an opportunity to meet and share with other caregivers experiencing similar issues.  We do offer free respite care in a secured area for loved ones during the meeting.  To ask questions or arrange for the respite care call 610-473-8066.

Labyrinth Used Books and Gifts, First United Methodist Church, 414 High St, Pottstown.  There is a wonderful selection of secular and religious books available for bargain prices at the Labyrinth.  Many popular authors are available.  There are also self help, reference and travel books, cookbooks, and children’s books.   Small gift items are also available at a low price.  Hours of operation are Friday, noon to 4 p.m. and Saturday, 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.  The first Saturday of each month, we sell a bag of books for $5 plus tax and we provide the bag!

PRO-ACT FAMILY PROGRAM

Each month PRO-ACT (Pennsylvania Recovery Organization Achieving Community Together) hosts a Family Program to help individuals and family recognize and address an addiction problem in a spouse, parent, child or other loved one. Facilitated by trained volunteers who have been in the same situation, these information and support programs begin on the first Wednesday of each month and run for three consecutive Wednesday evenings, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sessions meet at Creative Health, 11 Robinson St., Pottstown, Pa. Sessions are free and confidential - first names only.

LOCAL FARM FRESH FOOD DRIVE

Every first Saturday of the month, from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. under the Veteran's Memorial Gay Street Bridge and French Creek Trail.  Phoenixville Farmers' Market will be sponsoring a monthly food drive every first Saturday of the month.  Farmers and bakers will be contributing and customers are welcome to donate perishable market items and non perishable items.  The donations will be received by Good Samaritan Shelter in Phoenixville, an emergency and transitional housing shelter for homeless men.  The shelter cooks all of their own meals and is appreciative of the farmers’ and customers’ donations.

Country line dancing on the largest and best dance floor in the region on Sundays from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.  Includes a lesson with DJ Dixie Lynn from 5:30 to 6 p.m.  Families welcome!  $5 per person, kids 10-17 are $3 and kids under 10 are free.

The Friends of the Pottstown Library Back Door Used Book Sale will be Friday, January 21 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday, January 22 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. We have thousands of books priced $1 or less. While at the Book Sale be sure to stop by our store " The Book Nook " where we have the latest in fiction and non-fiction at $3 or less. We also have coffee, tea and hot chocolate, t-shirts, mugs and book bags for sale. The library is located at 500 High Street, at the corner of High and Washington Streets. PRO-ACT FAMILY PROGRAM

Each month PRO-ACT (Pennsylvania Recovery Organization Achieving Community Together) hosts a Family Program to help individuals and family recognize and address an addiction problem in a spouse, parent, child or other loved one. Facilitated by trained volunteers who have been in the same situation, these information and support programs begin on the first Wednesday of each month and run for three consecutive Wednesday evenings, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sessions meet at Creative Health, 11 Robinson St., Pottstown, Pa. Sessions are free and confidential - first names only.

LOCAL FARM FRESH FOOD DRIVE

Every first Saturday of the month, from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. under the Veteran's Memorial Gay Street Bridge and French Creek Trail.  Phoenixville Farmers' Market will be sponsoring a monthly food drive every first Saturday of the month.  Farmers and bakers will be contributing and customers are welcome to donate perishable market items and non perishable items.  The donations will be received by Good Samaritan Shelter in Phoenixville, an emergency and transitional housing shelter for homeless men.  The shelter cooks all of their own meals and is appreciative of the farmers’ and customers’ donations.

COUNTRY LINE DANCING

Country line dancing on the largest and best dance floor in the region on Sundays from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.  Includes a lesson with DJ Dixie Lynn from 5:30 to 6 p.m.  Families welcome!  $5 per person, kids 10-17 are $3 and kids under 10 are free.

FRIDAY NIGHT ADULT DANCES

Dance to the grand old tunes of the 50s, 60s and 70s.  $5 per person.

USED BOOK SALE

The Friends of the Pottstown Library Back Door Used Book Sale will be Friday, January 21 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday, January 22 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. We have thousands of books priced $1 or less. While at the Book Sale be sure to stop by our store " The Book Nook " where we have the latest in fiction and non-fiction at $3 or less. We also have coffee, tea and hot chocolate, t-shirts, mugs and book bags for sale. The library is located at 500 High Street, at the corner of High and Washington Streets. LONGABERGER BASKET BINGO

Sunday, January 30.  Longaberger Basket Bingo to benefit the American Cancer Society Relay For Life.  Keystone Fire Company, 240 N.
